“God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.” The first and second use of man refers to the human race, then we are told the race is male and female. Humans are created with two distinct genders, two sexes, from the Latin…sex(us), to severe, cut or divide. We are created with vivid distinctions so that we can image love, awesomely, with distinct attributes, designed with gift of self in mind.
